Two years ago, like many amateurs and professionals finding a platform to launch their freelancing careers, either as a full-time job or as a channel of extra income, I'd downloaded the Fiverr app on my android to see what it had to offer and the possibilities it had for my business.

I completed the sign-up requirements, and I was given an account. But something was wrong, it wasn’t mine, even though it had my name on it. It was a buyer account, and I wasn’t on the Fiverr marketplace to buy anything. They still don’t sell soda and bananas, so at the time, they had nothing I wanted to buy.

I tried logging out and logging in again, but the issue persisted. I deleted the app and reinstalled it, and by some miracle … there was no miracle.

After writing to the customer support via email, an attendant responded swiftly through Fiverr’s email service. We exchanged messages back and forth before he eventually advised me to use a PC/MacBook to complete the process, but I didn’t have any, so I abandoned Fiverr.

Recently, I reignited my zeal for freelancing, but I found out the situation still wouldn’t budge, so I tried Fiverr on my Android’s chrome browser, and it … (drum roll) … worked!!!

That is why I have written this how-to guide to help others like me solve this problem. It involves changing to the desktop version of the website, and the instruction below is for chrome users. If you use an iPhone, you can refer to this link on Business Insider to learn how to request a desktop website on iOS 13.

If you follow these 4 easy steps, you should have a Fiverr seller account in minutes.

  • Step 1: Enter Fiverr.com on your mobile browser. The landing page looks similar to the app version, and the difficulty will remain.
  • Step 2: Now go to your browser’s sidebar menu and select desktop version.
  • The desktop version of the site will be displayed
  • At the top right corner, you’ll see an option to switch to a seller account. Click on it and follow the steps to set-up your seller account and start selling gigs.

Not so fast, “Slow down Usain.” You’ll still need to verify your phone number with a PC or Mac before your gigs can be accepted, but you’d now be able to use your Fiverr seller account on your mobile phone.

Did I hear you say, “Thank you, IQ”?

You're always welcome.

Leave a comment below if you have any questions on the procedure above, and I promise to help you with an answer, and remember to clap this piece if you found it helpful.
